Maxi MIX

The patent-pending MIX technology features a proprietary blend of six LEDs: Red + Lime + Green + Blue + Amber + White. This enables the MAXI MIX fixture to generate a wide gamut of colours and create accurate Rosco gel matches that have been authenticated by Rosco’s colour experts.

The largest and the brightest member of the MIX range of LED fixtures, the MAXI MIX is capable of producing up to 7550 Lux (@1M @5500K) – making it the perfect choice for washing your scene in bold colours, luscious tints or flattering, full-spectrum white light. MAXI MIX fixtures can also be tiled together, enabling filmmakers and studio lighting technicians to create large walls of LED light.

Set lighting technicians know that speed is of the essence when the cameras are rolling. There are no complicated menus on the MAXI MIX. Simply choose between three different modes: White Mode, Gel Mode and Colour Mode, then choose the colour temperature, hue or Rosco gel colour desired and adjust as-needed. All of these features are available using the fixture’s on-board controls, or via the myMIX app from your mobile device.

True Rosco Colour Inside

rnMIX^u00aeprovides the best Rosco gel matches of any colour mixing LED source. Other LED lights claim to create Rosco gel matches and, in some cases, theyu2019re successful at it. There are some colours, however, that those lights just canu2019t make u2013 usually because theyu2019re limited by the colour space of their LEDs.rnrnMIX^u00aefeatures 6-LED colour mixing: Red + Lime + Green + Blue + Amber + White. This enables it to generate a wider gamut of colours than RGBW or RGBA fixtures. In addition, the Red and Lime emitters in the array are manufactured exclusively for MIX u2013 meaning that it can create colours, tones, and hues that are only available from a MIX light.rnEvery Rosco gel colour in the MIX^u00aelibrary has been authenticated by Roscou2019s colour experts as a match on tungsten and daylight sources u2013 by eye, by meter, and by camera. In addition, the MIX^u00aecontrol software also allows you to set the base colour temperature of the light before adding colour. Roscolux #18 Flame, for example, looks completely different on a tungsten light than it does on a daylight source. By allowing filmmakers to select the colour temperature of the MIX^u00aebefore selecting the colour, the fixture provides more accurate gel matches to other fixtures on set.rn

Enhanced Lighting Workflow

There areu00a0no menus! Simply choose between three different modes and then choose the colour temperature, colour or Rosco gel colour you desire from there.rnrnGel Mode:Not only are you able to select from a vast library of Rosco gel colours, youu2019re also able to modify the hue, saturation, and green/magenta shift of the gel colour as-needed.rnrnWhite Mode:Access a wide range of tunable white light from daylight to tungsten, including precise green/magenta correction.rnrnColour Mode:Navigate through the MIX^u00aecolour space using the 360u00b0 hue wheel to choose a colour and then set the intensity of the light output. MIX also offers the ability to desaturate colours toward several different color temperatures of white light to create different tones of the base hue.rnrn rn

rnThe myMIX App will allow filmmakers to easily control their MIX^u00aeLED fixtures from their mobile device u2013 and so much more! Whether youu2019re mixing your own colours from scratch, or modifying a Rosco gel colour youu2019ve chosen u2013 you can mix the colour you need using the myMIX App. From there, you can save those colours into your own personal library of colours in the cloud to call up whenever you need them in the future.rnrnYou can also share your personal colour mixes with any friend or crew member that also has the myMIX App. This is a great way for cinematographers to share colours with 2^ndunit or for gaffers to communicate colour choices with their set lighting technicians.rnrnHave you ever seen a colour in the real world or on a location scout and wanted to recreate that colour as light on set? The myMIX App allows you to capture that colour and then send it to your MIX^u00aeLED lights. If the colour isnu2019t quite right u2013 no worries. Just like any other MIX colour, you can adjust the hue, intensity, and saturation of your captured colour until itu2019s exactly what you need u2013 then save it to your library.rnrnLED technology changes quickly u2013 and MIX^u00aewill be no exception. For example, we will be continually adding more colour temperatures, hues and Rosco gel colours to the on-board library of MIX presets.
